Moong dal can be bought in various forms. This is split moong dal with the skin on.

Pressure Cook Dal
- 1 cup Moong Dal Split
- 6 cups Water
- 1/2 Jalapeno
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili Powder use 1/2 for less spicy
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 tsp Salt
Tarka (Tempering Spices)
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 Onion ~ 3.5 oz
- 1 spring Curry Leaves ~ 14
- 1/2 Jalapeno
- 2 cloves Garlic
Pressure Cook the Dal
Rinse the dal and add to the Instant Pot along with water, jalapeno, chili powder, salt and garlic
Turn on the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 12 mins.
Once done, slowly release the pressure
Tarka (Tempering Spices)
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a fry pan and add in the cumin seeds. Wait 30 seconds and add the onions
After about 10 mins add the garlic, curry leaves and jalapenos
Continue to fry until the mixture starts to turn brown
