Achari Keema
A Pakistani ground beef recipe with an achar flavor
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 2 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef
- 2 1 lb Onions Sliced
- 4 0.75 lb Tomatoes ~ 4
- 1 Jalapeno Pepper
- 8 + 8 Curry Leaves
- 2 + 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp Brown Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 + 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 2 tbsp Garlic Paste
- 2 tbsp Ginger Paste
- 2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Kalonji (Nigella Seeds)
Instructions
- Heat a pan and add cooking oil
- Add 2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and the 8 curry leaves. Fry for 30 seconds
- Add the the onions and fry for 10 mins on medium high heat
- Fry until the onions start to turn brown
- Add ginger and garlic paste
- Fry for a few minutes
- Add the ground beef. Turn to high heat
- Break up the beef. Fry for 5 minutes.
- Separate 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp fenugreek seeds, 2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp kalonji
- Add the spices to the beef and mix
- Fry for a few minutes
- Add the tomatoes, jalapeno and curry leaves
- Mix well
- Cover and cook on medium low for 10 minutes. Ready to serve
